All New Zealand Schools and state-integrated schools are required to have a School Board under the New Zealand Education Act.
The Waltham School Board is made up of five parent representatives, one staff representative, and the Principal.
Essentially the Board governs the school whilst the Principal manages the day to day running of the school. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school, overseeing the management of personnel, property and finance rather than administrative detail. Enhancing student achievement is its focus.
Copies of the meeting minutes are available at the school office.
