WALTHAM PIRATES WIN THE FINAL

The Waltham Pirates Basketball Team played in the final of the Monday night Year 7/8 B Grade competition against the Medbury Celtics. Coming into the final, the Waltham Pirates had remained unbeaten all season, winning every game.

After a shaky start, the Waltham Pirates were down 11 points to 4 early on in the game. They fought back well to be leading by just one point (16-15) at halftime.

After a good halftime talk the Waltham team played an amazing second half, particularly on defence, winning the half 22-8 and winning the game 38-23.

Congratulations to all the players on an amazing season where they went undefeated!!

A big thanks to Sue Elliot (SWIS) for supporting the team again this season and to Miss Carpenter and all the parents, grandparents and caregivers all came and watched the team throughout the season.

AKO and MEREMERE Classrooms have completed swimming in Term 1 at Waltham Pool.

At this stage WHETU, TAWERA and KOPU Classrooms will complete swimming in Term 3 at Pioneer Pool - Dates to be advised
